Health Benefits of Fruit and Vegetable Juices

Everyone knows that fresh fruit and vegetables are a great source of nutrition and are full of healthy minerals and vitamins that can help us to stay strong and recover from life threatening illnesses. As well as being healthy, juices are extremely tasty and contain a great deal of different easily absorbed nutrients that can help our bodily systems.

Freshness is a key factor in the quality of the juices you intake. The optimal results will be gained from drinking the juice as soon as it is squeezed as it will begin to lose its nutritional value from that minute on. Juice that you buy from the stores will never have the same benefits, and canned or bottle juices are generally pasteurized which will have destroyed all the beneficial enzymes and will have sugar added. The best way in which you can store your juice if you are unable to drink it straight away is in a refrigerated air tight container.

Vegetable Juices – Body Producers

The most commonly seen vegetable is carrot. It is a very good base for all juices and is generally thought of to be the most flavoursome of the juices. Carrots are naturally very sweet tasting, though we tend not to notice nowadays with all the refined sugars we intake. Some people notice a yellow or orange tinge to their skin after consuming a lot of carrot juice; this is nothing to be worried about. This comes from the toxins and old bile leaving the skin and is not a permanent effect on the body. Once the body is cleansed then the skin will return to its normal pigmentation.

Cabbage juice is another of the great juice drinks, though it is not as tasty and generally needs to be mixed with another vegetable such as carrot to make it more palatable.Beet Juice has a great flavour and is very healthy for our bodies. You should not be alarmed if you see a red color in your stools or urine after drinking beet juice as this is a normal by product of the red color in the vegetable.

Fruit Juice – Body Cleansers

Did you know that fruit juices have very high sugar content? Many people worry about drinking too much fruit juice as they believe their sugar intake will be too much. They tend to try and dilute the juice with some water and drink it in smaller doses. There are others who blend their fruit juice with fiber, though it can be argued that the energy used to digest the fiber may be better used to help heal the body. You can decide for yourself what you want to believe, though noted Dr Walker states that when food is juiced with the fiber separated, the toxins are eliminated with the fiber. He lived to be 118 and so it is tempting to trust in someone who has lived to be a ripe old age and does not die of disease. Variety is always a good idea when you are not sure on any subject, this ensures reasonability and balance.
