What is Yentreve and for what Yentreve is used ?

Yentreve is a hard gastro-resistant capsule. Each capsule of Yentreve contains pellets of the active substance with a covering to protect them from stomach acid.

• Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI) in women.
• Stress urinary incontinence is a medical condition in which patients have accidental loss or leakage of urine during physical exertion or activities such as laughing, coughing, sneezing, lifting, or exercise.

Yentreve is believed to work by increasing the strength of the muscle that holds back urine when you laugh, sneeze, or perform physical activities.

How Yentreve drug works?

Yentreve capsules contain the active ingredient duloxetine hydrochloride, which is a type of medicine called a combined serotonin and noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor. Yentreve works to help restore the balance of two naturally occurring chemicals in the brain and body: serotonin and norepinephrine. Research suggests that these chemicals play a role in both depression and diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain (DPNP). Dual uptake inhibitor means -- it simply means a drug that affects the reuptake of two neurotransmitters instead of one.

How to Take Yentreve

Yentreve may be taken with or without food. Yentreve has not been shown to increase the effects of alcohol. Even so, you should take extra care if you drink alcohol while taking Yentreve.

The recommended dose of Yentreve is one capsule of 40 mg twice a day (in the morning and late afternoon/evening). However, your doctor may decide to decrease your dose to one capsule of 20 mg twice a day. If you think that the effect of Yentreve is too strong or too weak, talk to your doctor. Yentreve is for oral use Do not stop taking Yentreve without talking to your doctor.

What are the Side Effects of Yentreve

These effects are normally mild to moderate and often disappear after a short time. Some common side effects reported with Yentreve include.

• Headache
• Anxiety
• Nausea
• Fatigue.
• Constipation
• Insomnia
• Sweating
• Dizziness

Warnings and precautions for Yentreve

• There have been isolated cases of people experiencing suicidal thoughts during or shortly after stopping treatment with this medicine. For this reason you should let your doctor know if you have any distressing thoughts or feelings at any time.
• Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this medicine affects you and you are sure it won't affect your performance. This medicine may make you feel sleepy and so may reduce your ability to drive or operate hazardous machinery safely. If you do experience drowsiness this may be made worse by alcohol.
• Yentreve should not be used during pregnancy and if you are breast feeding. Tell your doctor if you become pregnant, or you are trying to become pregnant, while you are taking Yentreve.
• Yentreve contains sucrose. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicinal product.

What drugs may interact with Yentreve

It is important to tell your doctor what medicines you are already taking, including those bought without a prescription and herbal medicines, before you start treatment with this medicine. The following medicines may increase the blood level of duloxetine and so should not be taken in combination with Yentreve medicine are

• Ciprofloxacin.
• Enoxacin.
• Fluvoxamine.
• Venlafaxine.

Yentreve must not be taken at the same time as, or within 14 days of taking a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) antidepressant, for example phenelzine, tranylcypromine or isocarboxacid. In addition, this type of antidepressant should not be started until at least five days after stopping Yentreve.

What to do if you take Overdose of Yentreve?

If you take overdose of Yentreve the seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center.

What to do if you take Missed Dose of Yentreve?

If you miss a dose of Yentreve, take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.

How to Store Yentreve:

• Keep Yentreve medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of the reach of children.
• Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Do not store above 30 °C.
• Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed. Talk to your pharmacist about the proper disposal of your medication.
